Chassis & Frame
Role
Designs and develops the vehicle's structural foundation, ensuring optimal strength-to-weight ratio while maintaining driver safety and comfort throughout every race.
Key Challenges
Achieving maximum structural rigidity with minimal weight, ensuring crash safety compliance, integrating mounting points for all systems, and maintaining manufacturing feasibility.
Impact
The chassis is the foundation of vehicle performance, directly influencing handling characteristics, safety ratings, and overall competitive advantage.
Powertrain
Role
Responsible for the heart of the vehicle - developing and optimizing the engine, transmission, and drivetrain to deliver maximum power and acceleration.
Key Challenges
Optimizing engine mapping for performance, designing efficient cooling and intake systems, developing reliable transmission systems, and balancing power output with reliability.
Impact
Powertrain efficiency determines acceleration, top speed, and overall race competitiveness, making it crucial for dynamic event success.
Suspension & Dynamics
Role
Engineers the suspension system and controls vehicle dynamics, optimizing how the car responds to steering inputs, cornering forces, and track conditions.
Key Challenges
Balancing ride comfort with responsive handling, optimizing weight transfer during acceleration and braking, fine-tuning suspension geometry, and ensuring predictable behavior.
Impact
Superior vehicle dynamics translate to faster lap times, better driver confidence, and competitive advantages in autocross and endurance events.
Electronics & Control Systems
Role
Develops and integrates all electronic systems including ECU programming, sensor networks, data acquisition, and electrical safety systems.
Key Challenges
Ensuring robust electrical architecture, managing power distribution, implementing real-time data logging and telemetry, integrating control systems, and meeting strict safety regulations.
Impact
Advanced electronics enable performance monitoring, system optimization, and provide critical data for continuous improvement of the vehicle.
Aerodynamics
Role
Designs and optimizes aerodynamic components including wings, diffusers, and bodywork to maximize downforce while minimizing drag.
Key Challenges
Balancing downforce generation with drag reduction, ensuring aerodynamic stability at all speeds, manufacturing complex carbon fiber components, and validating designs through CFD and testing.
Impact
Effective aerodynamics dramatically improve cornering speeds and overall lap times, providing significant competitive advantages.
Business & Marketing
Role
Manages sponsorship acquisition, team branding, social media presence, event organization, budget planning, and prepares business presentations for competitions.
Key Challenges
Securing sustainable funding through sponsorships, maintaining professional brand image, creating engaging content, managing financial resources, and developing compelling business cases.
Impact
Ensures team sustainability and growth by securing necessary resources, building partnerships, and promoting both the team and its supporters effectively.
